On "Christ Is King" is Anti-Semitic

My take on the Daily Wire / Candace Owens "Saying 'Christ Is King is anti-Semitic" brouhaha --

Shorter version: "A pox on both their houses!"

Longer version:

I think that Candace Owens is a grifter. EDIT (as I wasn't clear on this): I do believe that Candace Owens was attempting a more genteel version of what Fani Willis did in standing in the pulpit of that (black-church) and trying to wrap herself in the Bible and in the cloak of martyrdom.

I think that Ben Shapiro and Jeremy Boreing are grifters.

I think that Matt Walsh has auctioned off his balls to DW. EDIT: Of course, he had that stupid tattoo (seeking recognition by decorating your body with "art" reflects an immature, and decidedly non-manly, mindset) even before he joined DW, so there is that.

I think that Michael Knowles too much plays the "Isn't it cute how I intentionally give off this ghey-vibe, even though I'm not. Tee-hee!" card.

I think that Andrew Klavan doesn't understand the Christianity he professes to embrace: it's one thing to love your son who has made the perverse things he does with his dick into his identity, it's quite another thing to joke about it as though it is no big deal, as though there were no eternal consequence to treating any sin as one's identity.

I think that the purpose of Daily Wire is:
1) to hoover up money from "conservative-ish" people into the pockets of Shapiro and Boreing;
2) (and, as with Dave Rubin) to act as a fifth-columnist to insinuate the Ghey Agenda into conservatism.

On the "Jew thing" --

As I have mentioned more than once, I am a Christian, and I have Jewish ancestry. Specifically, my paternal grandmother's grandmother was a Jew. My Jewish great-great-grandmother's first husband was also a Jew, and they had Jewish children. After she was widowed, she married my non-Jewish great-great-grandfather, and they had children, their son being my grandmother's father.. Also, one of the Jewish descendants of my Jewish great-great-grandmother married my paternal grandfather's non-Jewish half-sister. Mind you, this was in the rural South -- everyone amongst my father's "people" (i.e. kith and kin) knew these things about our family.

I tell you those things because:
1) I am in no wise ashamed to have Jewish ancestry;
2) to give the anti-Christian Jew-haters the excuse they need to play the "Motivation Game" about my philo-Semitism;
3) to inform the Christianity-hating leftist-atheists-with-Jewish-grandmothers that I don't give a damn about the accusations they will inevitably toss at me.

SO --

Jesus of Nazareth claimed to be God-Among-Us. This claim is true, or it is false.

Jesus of Nazareth claimed that "No man comes to the Father, but by me." This claim is true, or it is false.

Now, if these claims are false, then:
1) according to the New Testament, my faith in Jesus is worthless, and I am still trapped in my sin;
2) according to the Old Testament, I am an idolater, or worse.

But, if these claims are true, then:
1) persons who *actively* reject Jesus *as* Christ are almost certainly still trapped in their sin (*);
2) persons who *actively* work to prevent others from accepting Jesus *as* Christ are assuredly still trapped in their sin. This applies to almost every Rabbi (**), for the main concern of most Rabbis is to keep their flocks ignorant about and fearing Christ (***).

(*) To say that "No man comes to the Father, but by me" is not the same as to say "No man comes to the Father, but by joining a human bureaucracy". What I mean is that Christ's own words inform us that some people who claimed to be Christians will be among the Damned, and that some people who did not claim to be Christians will be among the Redeemed.

(**) A person of Jewish ancestry can be a Buddhist -- no problem, the Rabbis still accept him as a Jew.

A person of Jewish ancestry can be wholly indifferent to the reality of God -- no problem, the Rabbis still accept him as a Jew.

A person of Jewish ancestry can be a demon-dabbling occultist -- no problem, the Rabbis still accept him as a Jew.

A person of Jewish ancestry can be a pornographer -- no problem, the Rabbis still accept him as a Jew.

A person of Jewish ancestry can be a rabid, fire-breathing, Judaism-hating atheist -- no problem, the Rabbis still accept him as a Jew.

But, let a person of Jewish ancestry be a Christian -- Whoa! That is a bridge too far!.

(***) A certain sort of "Jew" -- typically, they are leftist atheists, and they claim Jewishness only for the "victim points" -- like to gas on about the Jews being forced into ghettos in European cities. BUT, the truth is that it was the Jewish leaders themselves who demanded the setting aside of ghettos when they negotiated with non-Jewish rulers and magnates to establish a new Jewish settlement in one of the cities they ruled. And the day-to-day reason -- which is to say, the most important reason -- that the Jewish leaders wanted to segregate their fellow "common" Jews from the "common" Christians is that Christianity has always been appealing to Jews who want their worship of God to be deeper than ritual.

The Street Called "Hate" Runs Both Ways

Kathy Shaidle: An open letter to those Jewish ladies on Facebook who REALLY hate Christians -- "... Anyhow, don’t worry: If you really cared about this, you would just go visit this pastor and his congregation and I’m pretty sure that after about 5 minutes, they wouldn’t like Jews as much any more!"

Yeppers. Some Jews are as irrational and as hate-filled toward Christianity and Christians -- and as irrational in their hatreds -- as the people who "((()))"

EDIT: Of course, the *other* thing about Miss Shaidle's open letter is the tribalism of Catholics in America (in this context, Canada counts as being part of America), including (or especially?) the ones, such as Miss Shaidle, who are only culturally Catholic. In a very real way, "non-observant" Catholics mirror "non-observant" Jews when it comes to waving the tribal banner.

Two Jewish Jokes

I was Googling to find a particular Jewish joke; I found it, and on the same page I found another that I wish to share with Gentle Reader.

Here is the joke I was looking for --
Nothing

During Shabbat services the Rabbi kneels and puts his forehead to the floor and says, "Before you oh Lord, I am nothing."

The Cantor looks at him, thinks it couldn't hurt, and kneels, puts his forehead to the floor, and says, "Before you oh Lord, I am nothing."

Ben Shapiro in the fifth row is watching this and thinking that it was a pretty good idea, so he goes in the middle of the isle, kneels and puts his forehead to the floor and says, "Before you oh Lord, I am nothing."

The Rabbi nudges the Cantor. "Look who thinks he's nothing!"

Here is the one I wish to share with Gentle Reader --
A Dialogue while Moses is at the top of Sinai....

G: And remember Moses, in the laws of keeping Kosher, never cook a calf in its mother's milk. It is cruel.

Moses: Ohhhhhh! So you are saying we should never eat milk and meat together.

G: No, what I'm saying is, never cook a calf in its mother's milk.

Moses: Oh, Lord forgive my ignorance! What you are really saying is we should wait six hours after eating meat to eat milk so the two are not in our stomachs.

G: No, Moses, what I'm saying is, don't cook a calf in its mother's milk!!!

Moses: Oh, Lord! Please don't strike me down for my stupidity! What you mean is we should have a separate set of dishes for milk and a separate set for meat and if we make a mistake we have to bury that dish outside....

G: Ah, do whatever you want....
So, Jews do understand the absurdity that Rabbinical Judaism has made of the Law.

As social institutions or traditions, both Rabbinical Judaism and Christianity are off-shoots of 1st Century Pharisaical Judaism -- that is, as social institutions or traditions, both present-day Judaism and Christianity have an equal claim to being the "real" Judaism.

Now, aside from the whole Son of God question, the difference between the two is that -- following Christ -- Christianity rejected the whole Oral Torah tradition of the Pharisees, whereas Rabbinical Judaism wrote it down and elaborated it to even more absurd lengths than the Pharisees themselves had done.

And, by the by, the Mysterium (that's intentional) of The One True Bureaucracy is analogous to the Pharisees' Oral Law.

'I have set before you [this day] life and death ... therefore choose life'

Laura Rosen Cohen: Holy Crap this is Awesome: Israeli Company Invents "Seamless" Incision Closure Method -- Odd, isn't it? I mean, the difference between a 'culture of life', such as the Israelis (in this instance) or the Americans, and a 'culture of death', such as the Arabs in particular, and Moslems in general.

Arabs, and Moslems in general, like to tell themselves that they (i.e. Islam) will prevail over the Little Satan (Israel) and the Great Satan (America) because, "They love life, but we love death."

Indeed.

"I call heaven and earth as witness this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live:" -- Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)

This is the choice God sets before every culture and every individual.

Only gentiles could be this dumb

That ["Only gentiles could be this dumb"] is the title Kathy Shaidle applied to her link this post: Jew-hating United Church members pretending to be self-hating Jews

This is my comment to that post --
"Independent Jewish Voices' claim that they are members of the United Church who happen to be Jews is about as valid as someone who says they are a Sunni Muslim who happens to be a member of the Roman Catholic Church. These are mutually exclusive terms and you're either one or the other. By their professed beliefs and actions, it seems clear that Independent Jewish Voices is made up of Christians masquerading as Jews for the sole purpose of attempting to lend a sick pseudo-legitimacy to their demonization of the Jewish state."

While I suspect that it's probably true that "Independent Jewish Voices" are not Jews, your argument against them lacks a certain umph. For, after all:

* one can be an 'atheist' ... and still be a "Jew"

* one can be an leftist ... and still be a "Jew"

* one can be a Buddhist ... and still be a "Jew"

* one can even be a Moslem ... and still be a "Jew" (at least in Reform circles)

Apparently, the only dual-loyalty not allowed is to be a Christian who is a Jew.
The United Church of Canada is a "liberal" -- which is to say, leftist -- "ecumenical Protestant" denomination of (these days) mostly pseudo-Christians: if there is an anti-Biblical, and especially leftist, proposition out there, you can be sure that the UCC will promote it. Of course they hate Israel, and Jews in general -- they're leftists.

At the same time, many Jews -- at any rate, the sort I call "bagel Jews" -- do seem to go out of their way to make it easy for non-Jews to have a low opinion of, or even hatred toward, Jews in general. When your "Judaism" amounts to little more than hatred of Christianity (*), how can you be surprized that persons whose "Christianity" amounts to little more than "my sainted mother was a Christian" have a low opinion of Jews?

You know, I myself have Jewish ancestors, and I will never be ashamed of nor hide that fact. I like the fact that Israel exists as a "Jewish State". I like the fact that Christian America has always thought highly of Judaism and has welcomed Jews as Jews. At the same time, there are times I get so fed up with irrational Jewish whinging, and irrational Jewish hatred of, and sometimes lies about, Christianity.

(*) By the way, there is a simiar dynamic amongst Canadians, especially the more "liberal" or leftist they are -- for many Canadians, their Canadianness amounts to little more than, "We're not Americans! ... and that makes us better, nicer, and more moral than they are!"
