Curling Up Under the Blanket

Douglas Wilson: Curling Up Under the Blanket
We live in a generation that is totalitarian in principle, having accepted all the basic totalitarian premises. Denying the Lordship of Jesus Christ drives you to those premises — for if Jesus is not Lord, then there is a vacancy that men will always want to fill. ...

We started by believing, as we ought to have done, that every man had a right to his own cabbages. We have ended by believing that every man has a right to his own truths. That ends with goons coming from the Department of Agriculture to seize the cabbages, and not one minister of the gospel in ten can explain how all such events are connected.

Forgot to explain the wording of the link. It is in response to this posting by im-skeptical over on his blog. I am well aware that the coexistence of liberty and equality is a difficult, if not impossible, thing to pull off in the real world. (Just ask the French how well that attempt worked out in 1789-1815.)

Thought you might be amused by Skeppy's "reasoning".

Welcome to my little corner of the interwebs, Edgestow.

I don't recall that I've ever seen your screen-name. But, by your mention of Skeppy, I presume you've seen me at Victor Reppert's blog. Just in case you haven't realized it, Skeppy's "reasoning" doesn't amuse me ... it almost makes me physically ill.

Yeah, that's where I found the link to this site (on your profile). Thanks for the welcome.
