Tell them [that we're idiots] ... Bring me to this rock, that has the most incredible life.

When they say that someone is a 'vegetable', those are the sort of folk they're talking about.

I liked the drum. Kinda added something.

But you know, I remember once crying (well, getting a little misty eyed) over a favorite tree that was knocked down by Hurricane Hugo. Didn't scream, though.

Loved that tree. We all called it the Baobob, 'cause it had so many trunks.

How nice. One of them was thoughtful enough to bring a camera so we could all see how caring they were.

Well, since the whole point was how morally superior they are to normal people (you know, the ones who actually try to learns and live by real morality), *of course* there had to be a camera there. I mean, what would have been the point, otherwise?

I like trees. A lot (*). Nevertheless, when you get down to it, they're really just overgrom broccoli.

(*) After I bought my property, I planted a couple of seedling redwoods. Sadly, they did not survive the first winter. And it really pisses me off when I find evidence that someone has damaged a tree on my property. Of the 12 of so English walnuts I planted back in 1987, only the one near the house survived ... the most of others having been severely injured or even outright killed by people traipsing across my property.

To the best of my knowledge, what you're suggesting is not possible. The options I'm aware of are:
1) Make you're blog "members only", which seems to me to rather miss the point of a blog;
2) Require all comments to be individually 'approved' by the blog owner or admistrator before they become publically visiable;
3) After-the-fact individually delete comments that are "over the line" (which includes the option to delete not only the content, but also the "place-holder")

It seems to me that option 3) is the best solution to the occasional troll. That's how I got rid of the troll or trolls who tried to set up shop on this little blog.

I deleted my comment to you when I saw that Victor had already taken steps over on his site. I must have done that while you were composing your reply. Sorry for the confusion that may have caused.

In any case, i think it's for the best. Victor had a great site, but it had effectively been hijacked by trolls. Rational conversation was no longer possible due to their disruptive "commentary".
